Party on the Hill in January at the Elite & U23 Road National Championships in Napier,  New Zealand’s premier national road cycling event that attracts the country's top professional and amateur road cyclists all vying for the coveted National Jersey.

Hosted for the second year by Napier City Council, the event includes three days of intense racing including time trials and road races for Elite & U23 grades for both Men and Women. The first day of racing sees the riders tackle the Time Trial at the Church Road Winery.  The second day is when we celebrate Womens cycling with the Elite & U23 Womens Road Race taking place with the event village and finish line situated in down town Napier.  The highly anticipated Mens Road Race is on the final day.

The Road Races culminate in a spectacular finish, which is supported by large crowds of spectators over Napier Hill where organisers hope to see a real #partyonthehill - best dressed effort wins a new Avanti bike! - and finishes on the beach front of Napier’s famous Marine Parade.

The event continues to establish itself as the highlight of the New Zealand road cycling calendar for riders and fans. Each year the event continues to develop into not only a cycling race but a festival of events.

The event is part of the Summer Cycling Carnival which is a celebration of cycling combining elite and fun cycling events. It begins with fun events for the kids, families and recreational riders and ends with the Elite Road National Championships and The Legends of Cycling Dinner. The Carnival has something for everyone.

Hawke’s Bay has more than 200kms of on-road and off-road trails, a Pump Track, Junior Cycling Track, world class road rides and more restaurants, bars, wineries and places to stay than you can think of.

All that's missing is you. Join us in January and Party on the Hill! for more info see http://www.summercyclingcarnival.co.nz
